I came to Crete in October 2003 and  fell in love with the charming people, lovely  countryside and relaxed lifestyle.  This inspired me to seek a luxurious hideaway in the countryside. I found an  amazing tranquil location overlooking a beautiful  valley on the outskirts of the  quaint village of Gavalochori which is near the  seaside villages of Almirida (which has a shelving sandy beach in a sheltered bay) and Kalives, a traditional Greek village.  

The White Mountains (Lefka Ori) provide a spectacular back-drop.  Two villas were designed and built - Villa Ariadne as a luxurious Greek villa for holiday rental and Villa Phaedra next door as a permanent home.  I shall therefore usually be on hand for friendly advice, if required, but will otherwise leave you, our guests, to enjoy your stay in peace and quiet and without intrusion.

All three double bedrooms are luxuriously furnished and have patio doors to private balconies.   There is a bathroom on each floor- one with a bath and the other a shower. The Italian designer kitchen includes a fridge freezer,full electric cooker, microwave, toaster,coffee maker and kettle.  The living room has been furnished in a contemporary style and includes a three seater leather settee complemented with a two seater hand crafted fabric sofa imported from the UK. A Cretan pine coffee table,colourful rug and accent lighting complete the picture.  A colour TV with Satellite and a DVD/CD Player are provided. The balconies are furnished with tables and chairs. The perfect place to enjoy an evening drink whilst feasting on the magnificent sunsets over the White Mountains and the hill top village of Douliana.

Gavalochori a quiet typically charming Greek village is a 7 minute walk from the Villa. There you will find  3 tavernas,2 mini markets and a bakery. The unspoiled beaches of Almirida and Kalives are a mere 5 km drive.  Close by is Vamos, the regional centre, and also the wide glorious swathe of golden sands at Georgioupolis.  A half hour drive from Chania International Airport will bring you straight to our haven.
